John Bennett is instrumental in supporting ESG’s corporate practice, leveraging extensive experience executing high-stakes transactions and navigating complex business matters. He specializes in debt and equity capital raises, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance with state and federal securities laws. John also focuses on general corporate governance, delivering tailored legal counsel to a comprehensive range of clients, from emerging startups to established businesses.
John’s practice primarily encompasses drafting and negotiating letters of intent, stock and asset purchase agreements, and financial instruments. He is also responsible for conducting due diligence, preparing disclosure schedules, submitting securities filings, and overseeing entity formation. With meticulous attention to detail and strategic insight, John ensures that clients achieve optimal outcomes while remaining compliant with relevant regulations.
Prior to joining ESG, John worked as an associate attorney at a boutique corporate transactional and securities practice in San Diego, CA. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Justice Lidia S. Stiglich in the Nevada Supreme Court. During law school, John was the Executive Symposium Editor of the UC Hastings Science and Technology Law Journal. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Beyond his academic career, John has maintained a notable history of involvement in the esports and gaming industries. He founded Reno Smash Community and served as an officer for Nevada Esports during his undergraduate studies, establishing a platform for competitive Super Smash Bros., League of Legends, Counter-Strike, and Halo in Northern Nevada. More recently, John curates the “World of Gaming Apparel” vintage merchandising exhibit hosted annually at the SoCal Gaming Expo in Pasadena, California.
